All Georgians deserve equal rights and a seat at the table in discussions about our future as a state. Too many Georgians face discrimination and systemic inequity across every area of life, including in our economic, health care, criminal justice, and education systems.

This summer, Georgians in every corner of the state have taken to streets and to social media to demand justice for all of our people. The murder of Ahmaud Arbery went unprosecuted for many months until a public uproar forced state intervention.

Until all of us can fully exercise our rights, none of us can claim that we are free. Our communities deserve a leader who will advocate for equity and justice for all Georgians.

As representative of State House District 45, I will work to:

  • Repeal citizen’s arrest and “stand your ground” laws that lead to vigilantism.

  • Promote accountability and transparency by creating databases tracking use of lethal force by law enforcement and mandating investigating and reporting.

  • Invest in community support programs including diversion programs, substance abuse, behavioral and mental health treatment.

  • Provide training for law enforcement in deescalation and community policing models.

  • Expand Medicaid and mandate training programs for health care workers to address racial disparities in quality of care and Georgia’s maternal mortality crisis.

  • Oppose legislation that vilifies immigrant communities

  • Protect LGBTQ+ communities from harassment and discrimination while promoting fairness and opportunity for all Georgians

  • Address the educational achievement gap in K-12 education by greater investment in communities where low-performing schools are located, including increasing broadband access in these communities.
